The Children's Hour
Our Place Theatre Project

Jacqui Parker, an Eliot Norton award winning actor and director, leads Our Place Theatre Project which helps under-represented youth and adults discover their ability to empower themselves, transform their lives by building bridges across the divides of race, ethnicity and communities through acting on the stage, through participating in intensive training on the stage and behind the scenes, and through sharing the stories that affect their lives. Jacqui and two of the children will highlight their upcoming production of Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour, a presentation of Boston's African American Theater Festival, to be presented at  the Boston Center for the Arts in June.

Express Yourself

Express Yourself, immerses young people into the creative world of music, dance and visual arts and empowers these youth with life changing results. Express Yourself celebrates cultural diversity and collaboration with isolated youth from 17 Department of Mental Health residential and inpatient facilities who form their own large community. Youth and artists become inspired during a full year program creating set designs, visual art, and performance pieces for their grand celebration followed by exhibition. Co-Director and noted jazz musician Stan Strickland will introduce the listening audience to great work and let you know about Express Yourself's annual performance, Bounce! at the Wang Center on May 21st.
